Supersize Me

The movie Supersize Me by Morgan Spurliock was a very important movie in how we view obesity and food corporations in America. The movie was a one-man dietary experiment with a ludicrous Idea. Eat only McDonalds for an entire month and monitor his health as he went thought. In just a month he gained 24 pound and was having liver problems, the type which doctors had never seen before. the movie made Spurlock  $28,548,000. Several other people did the same thing as Spurlock, many of whom were sponsored by McDonalds and other fast food chains. The movie had many positive effects such as the removal of supersizeing and a more health conscious public. The movie got 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a rare feat for any movie, let alone a documentary. The whole movie was fascinating, a little disgusting, and very well done. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and I am glad to have watched it. The movie was a wakeup call to gluttonous Americans who had heard about how bad our food, lack of exercise, and our immoderate proportion sizes. This movie shows just how bad fast food and our culture surrounding it has gotten. I am glad that may parents force fed me healthy food. The other thing is that while Spurlock did not do this to a scientific standard it still was still such a decisive result that nobody, especially the food industry and Americans could ignore it. The public became noticeably more health conscious. To me this movie was great; I am looking forward to seeing some of Spurlock’s other documentaries. Spurlock was also a sort of cool guy; he was the perfect person to go through it. So that is why I really liked the movie Supersize Me.
