I Watched TV for Homework

  • Watch a 30-minute, national, network news broadcast.
  • Blog – What did you notice?

For today’s blog I watched ABC news with Katie Couric and watched a video on the gun markets of Pakistan from CNN. I found the Katie Couric bit well done but since I caught the tail end of it I did not see much on Haiti. I was a little disappointed by the inclusion of the John Edwards divorce because it seemed like something from a tabloid. The Mac exposition of the Itab was interesting, and in my opinion more newsworthy than the Edwards issue. I however saw very little in the Itab other than it was an Iphone that was bigger and contained more processing power. This observation led me to believe that either there was a excessive amount of hype surrounding the product, or that compression had distorted the features of the Itab to fit time constraints. The CNN video on the gun markets of Pakistan was fascinating, though, intentionally monofocal. It showed a very good range of life in Pakistan and clearly depicted the problems with the uncontrolled sale of guns in Pakistan.
