car ad

For the add on color plate G it is trying to show that the Saturn VUE is an eco friendly car. The ad appeals with ethos to the audience’s humor. The audience is clearly an eco-friendly group who has the planet’s interests in mind. The point and also the message of this ad is that the Saturn VUE is a car which will not harm the environment. They say that this is car for those who love the environment. The car company is also saying that this is a car for those who love to be outside enjoying any environment. The tagline at the bottom of the ad says ”At home in almost any environment.” Clearly showing who this ad’s audience is. The logic in this argument is that if you love the outdoors you should have a car that you can explore the outdoors in, that car being the VUE.

While I agree with you that Color Plate G is promoting an eco-friendly car I don't necessarily believe the ad appeals to the audience's sense of humor. There is nothing that I see that one would find funny. Instead, I think the ad exhibited a fear of harming nature, so fear is appealing to the audiences sense of emotion.

I agree with what Molly said. I think you're general thoughts are good, but I am struggling to understand as to why you thought that this car appealed to the audience's humor. I believe that rather than this picture appealing to the audience's humor, it appeals more to their sense of wanting an eco-friendly car. If you have ways to back up what you believe the use of ethos is, please explain!
