Progress on my proposal
Over the break I worked and completed my project proposal. For my inquiry contract I am researching “finders keepers,” who gets to keep cultural resources. I’m rather happy with my project at this moment. Today I met with LaMags after school and worked on some minor corrections in the proposal, at this point my proposal is pretty much done though it might require some minute tweaking. Because I am passionately interested in archaeology I chose a topic that plays to that strength. Because I played to my strengths and picked a topic carefully it was not very hard to write about my topic, it was even easier for me to come up with examples and personal experiences, which relate to the topic. I hope that this inquiry contract will be successful because I spent a lot of time over break carefully selecting a topic on which to write about.

Chris,
I think it's really neat that you chose a topic that you are so interested in. I know you have a strong passion for archeology--which is really cool. I'm a bit confused as to your topic though. Is the controversy about after someone finds something whether or not they should be allowed to keep it? That's kind of what I gained from this blog, but I was a bit confused as to how this could be such a controversial issue. I am sure you know more about it than I do, so feel free to explain...
I think that this topic could produce a multitude of opinions. I'm just curious as to your personal ideas—if someone found the Mona Lisa in his or her backyard after 700 years of being lost, should he/she be allowed to keep it?
